Our Story

From Employee to Entrepreneur

Coventry Body Shop has one workshop in Wyken, Coventry, serving customers across Coventry and the surrounding area. We repair dents, scratches, scuffed and cracked bumpers and accident damage. Our work includes panel straightening, bolt-on replacement of bumpers, wings, doors and bonnets, some plastic welding, paintless dent repair and SMART repair. We do not carry out metal cutting, metal welding, servicing or mechanical work.

Our paintwork ranges from single-panel repairs to full resprays. Paint is mixed to the vehicle manufacturer's paint code and sprayed in our workshop spray booth. Before the repair, you get a quote from us. A small inspection is free; a deep inspection starts at £200 + VAT (£240 including VAT). No deposit is required, and you can cancel at any time.

Minor scratches and chips take one to two days. Small jobs can sometimes be completed the same day, depending on how busy we are. Most repairs take three to seven working days once work starts, provided parts are available. Customers drop off and collect their vehicles at the workshop. We do not offer vehicle collection, delivery or courtesy cars.

We hold business insurance and provide a six-month workmanship guarantee from the date you collect your vehicle.

Our company director is a former Aston Martin technician and painter who has painted cars from Aston Martin to Lamborghini. He is the only person who paints the cars we repair, and we are a small team.

Today, that same standard carries forward through our partnership with Mirage Body Shop. Quotes, bookings and advice come through Coventry Body Shop; the workshop craft, from paintwork and dent removal to accident repair, is delivered alongside the Mirage Body Shop team, so every customer gets the same honest process from first quote to finished finish.

How long do repairs take?
Most repairs take 3 to 7 working days once the work starts, provided all the parts are available. Minor scratches and stone chips can often be done in 1 to 2 days. A repair can take longer if parts arrive late. If you supply your own parts and bring them in later, your car joins our queue and the work continues at the next free slot. That is why we ask you to decide at the start whether we order the parts or you supply them, so we can confirm prices and plan the work in advance. When we assess your vehicle, we give you a realistic completion date and keep you updated while the work is done.
Do you repair cars before a lease return?
Yes. Check your leasing company's return guide first, because requirements differ between agreements. Bring the car in well before your return date. We then quote for marks such as bumper scuffs, parking dents, chipped paint and kerbed alloy wheels. You decide which work goes ahead, and the leasing company decides which charges apply.
What happens if you find extra damage during the repair?
If we find damage or work that was not in your quote, such as damage hidden behind a bumper or a part that needs replacing, we contact you before doing any extra work. We explain what we found and give you an updated quote. We do not carry out extra chargeable work without your agreement, and we confirm that agreement in writing; a text, email or message is enough.
