Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about repairs, estimates and timescales

Can you help with my insurance claim?
Yes. We can help with a claim through your insurer. We photograph the damage, send your insurer a quotation, or on request an estimated invoice, which is not a VAT invoice, and, if you want us to, deal with them about the repair. The claim is between you and your insurer, and your insurer decides how it is settled, so check your policy for your excess and whether you can choose your own repairer.
Do you collect and deliver vehicles?
No. We do not collect or deliver vehicles. Please bring your car to our workshop in Wyken, Coventry, at the time we agree, and collect it from us when the work is done.
How do I book my car in for repair?
You can book through our online booking page, call or WhatsApp us on +44 7903 105777, or send photos and a short description of the damage with the Send enquiry button on our website. Our Vehicle Repair Estimator gives an instant guide price based on your car type, the damage and the paint finish you want. A guide price is a starting point only: your quote follows our inspection of the car, as a price given from photos is provisional and may change once we have seen it. Your booking is confirmed once we have accepted it and agreed a date with you.
How long do repairs take?
Most repairs take 3 to 7 working days once the work starts, provided all the parts are available. Minor scratches and stone chips can often be done in 1 to 2 days. A repair can take longer if parts arrive late. If you supply your own parts and bring them in later, your car joins our queue and the work continues at the next free slot. That is why we ask you to decide at the start whether we order the parts or you supply them, so we can confirm prices and plan the work in advance. When we assess your vehicle, we give you a realistic completion date and keep you updated while the work is done.
Do you repair cars before a lease return?
Yes. Check your leasing company's return guide first, because requirements differ between agreements. Bring the car in well before your return date. We then quote for marks such as bumper scuffs, parking dents, chipped paint and kerbed alloy wheels. You decide which work goes ahead, and the leasing company decides which charges apply.
What happens if you find extra damage during the repair?
If we find damage or work that was not in your quote, such as damage hidden behind a bumper or a part that needs replacing, we contact you before doing any extra work. We explain what we found and give you an updated quote. We do not carry out extra chargeable work without your agreement, and we confirm that agreement in writing; a text, email or message is enough.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
We do not offer financing or payment plans at present. If you are worried about paying, contact us before your repair date and we will try to find a workable arrangement.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer and debit and credit cards. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due when the work is complete and before the vehicle is released. For insurance work, we arrange payment with your insurer; you may need to pay your policy excess to us, depending on your policy.
What is your complaints process?
If you are unhappy with our service or a repair, please tell us first so we can look into it and put things right. Call us on +44 7903 105777 or use our contact form, and include your booking reference and a short description of the problem. If your concern is about the finish, photos help: send them on WhatsApp to +44 7903 105777 or with the Send enquiry button on our website. Please report any workmanship concern promptly so we can inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, put the work right. This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Do you provide courtesy cars?
No. We do not provide courtesy cars. If you need a car while yours is with us, ask your insurer what your policy includes, as cover varies and can depend on which repairer you use. After a non-fault accident, the other driver's insurer may also offer one.
Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?
We give you both options and you choose. OEM parts are new and made to the vehicle maker's specification. Aftermarket parts are often good-quality alternatives at a lower price. We explain the difference clearly so you can decide what suits you, with no pressure.
Is colour matching and paint quality guaranteed?
Our paint finish is covered by our 6-month workmanship guarantee, which runs from the date you collect your vehicle. We use the manufacturer's paint code and specialist colour mixing to get the closest match for your car. If you are unhappy with the finish, bring the car back and we will inspect it and put right any fault in our work.
Can I track or see progress on my repair?
Yes. Call us on +44 7903 105777 during opening hours (Mon-Fri: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Sat: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Sun: Closed) and we will tell you where the repair has reached. You can also arrange a time to see your vehicle at the workshop.
Are you VAT registered?
Yes. EDYCAR AUTO BODYREPAIR LTD is VAT registered, VAT number 530 346 911. Our quotes show the price, the VAT and the total you pay.
What car repair services does Coventry Body Shop offer?
We offer a full range of accident repair and paint services including bumper repair, scratch and scuff removal, full resprays, panel replacement, headlight restoration, lease return inspections, and insurance-backed accident repairs. Our workshop handles everything from minor stone chips to major collision work.
Can I get a quote before repairs start?
Yes. We quote before any work begins, and if you need a document we can provide a quotation or an estimated invoice; neither is a VAT invoice, which comes once the job is done. A small inspection, where we look at the damage so that we can quote, is free. If a deeper inspection is needed, we explain it first and tell you the price, from £240 including VAT (£200 plus VAT); if you go ahead with the repair, that charge is taken off your bill. Quotes given from photos or messages are provisional until we have seen the vehicle.
What vehicle types and makes do you work on?
We repair cars and vans of all common makes and models, from small hatchbacks and family cars to commercial vehicles. We also take on fleet and commercial bodywork and classic car restoration. If your vehicle has an unusual finish or you are not sure whether we can help, call or WhatsApp us on +44 7903 105777, or send photos with the Send enquiry button on our website, before you book.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes. Our workmanship on every job is guaranteed for 6 months from the date you collect your vehicle. The guarantee covers the labour and the quality of our work. Parts are covered by the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty, which we confirm when you accept your quote. The guarantee is in addition to your legal rights.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
You can cancel or move your booking at any time, free of charge, and we do not take deposits. Please let us know as early as you can, by calling +44 7903 105777 or through our contact form, so we can offer the slot to another customer and find you a new date. If you decide not to go ahead after a deep inspection you agreed to, or after work has started, you pay only for the inspection and the work done up to then. If you go ahead with the repair, the deep inspection charge is taken off your repair bill.
How do you handle my personal data?
We collect only what we need to handle your enquiry, booking and repair: your name and contact details, your vehicle details and photos of the damage, and the quotes, invoices and notes for your job. If your repair is part of an insurance claim, your insurer or claims handler may also give us claim details. We do not use your details for marketing unless you have agreed to it. Your records are kept securely and used only by authorised staff and the service providers who work for us. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
What are my GDPR rights?
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete, and ask us to erase it. You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, request your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. Some of these rights depend on legal conditions. To make a request, use our contact form. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first; you also have the right to complain to the Information Commission (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Do you share my information with third parties?
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only where it is needed for your job or required by law: for example with your insurer or claims handler when your repair is part of a claim, with parts and paint suppliers when we order parts, with our card payment provider and bank, with the companies that host and secure our website and run our email and phone services, and with authorities such as HMRC where the law requires it. Our Privacy Policy lists everyone we share data with, including Google when you allow a map to load and WhatsApp if you message us there.
How long do you keep my personal data?
We keep booking, repair, invoice and payment records for six years from the end of the financial year in which the job was completed, or longer where tax rules require it, for example during an HMRC check. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact. Other records, such as CCTV recordings and website data, are kept for shorter periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
Which law governs your terms and conditions?
Our terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales may hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Where can I read your full policies?
Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, GDPR Policy and Terms & Conditions are linked at the bottom of every page of this website. Together they explain how Coventry Body Shop handles your personal data and the terms that apply to quotes, bookings, payment and warranty.
