Panel Dent Repair & Respray

We repair dented and bent panels and respray them at our workshop in Wyken, Coventry. Panel dent repair and respray costs from £210 including VAT (£175 plus VAT), with the final price set after inspection. It is the job for dents where the paint has cracked or the metal has stretched too far to push back without repainting.

Paintless repair or filler and paint?

Some dents push out from behind with the paint left intact. Where the paint has cracked, the dent needs straightening, filling and a repaint. Sharp creases and stretched metal can go either way. You do not need to know which yours is before you contact us. We decide at inspection, and if the paint is sound we may point you to paintless dent repair instead, which keeps the existing paint.

Straightening, replacing or plastic repair

We straighten bent panels, rear quarter panels included. Bolt-on panels, such as bumpers, wings, doors and bonnets, can be replaced when straightening is not the better option, and we tell you which at inspection. For more on that choice, read when to repaint or replace a panel.

A rear quarter panel is part of the body shell rather than bolted on, so replacing one means cutting the old panel out. We do not cut or weld metal panels. If your car needs that, we will tell you and recommend a garage we have trusted with welding work before.

Split plastic bumpers are a different job. We do some plastic welding on bumpers, and our bumper repair page covers it.

How the repaint is done

Once the panel has its shape back, we fill any remaining low spots, prime the repair and spray the colour. The colour comes from the manufacturer's paint code and specialist colour mixing. Where the repair needs it, we blend the new colour into the paint around it, so the change is gradual rather than a hard edge, and then finish with lacquer. Our company director is the main painter and the only person who touches the paint. All paintwork is sprayed in our spray booth.

What the price depends on

The price starts from £210 including VAT (£175 plus VAT). The final figure depends on the paint on your car and the work the panel needs: how deep the dent is, whether the panel straightens or needs replacing, and whether the colour needs blending into the paint around it. A small inspection is free.

How long the repair takes

Most repairs take 3 to 7 working days once work starts, provided all the parts are available. We ask at the start whether you want us to order any parts, because late parts hold the job up. Small jobs can sometimes be done the same day, depending on how busy we are, but allow 1 to 2 days.

You drop the car off at the Wyken workshop and collect it from there. We do not collect or deliver cars and do not lend courtesy cars.
